What does the The Penicillin Cocktail taste like?

The Penicillin is a complex and balanced cocktail. The blended Scotch provides a smooth, rounded base, while the lemon juice adds brightness and acidity. The honey and ginger syrups offer sweetness and warmth, with the ginger notes adding a spicy kick. A splash of Islay Single Malt Scotch adds a smoky, peaty depth, creating a unique and satisfyingly complex flavor profile.

What tips do you have when making the The Penicillin Cocktail?

To make a perfect Penicillin, ensure your ginger syrup is fresh and strong, balancing the honey sweetness. Use a good quality blended Scotch as a base, and a peaty Islay for the kick. Don’t overshake, you want a slightly cloudy texture, not a frothy one. A splash of soda water can add a refreshing touch, but it’s optional. Finally, a nice garnish of a ginger wheel or candied ginger is a must.
